How To Downgrade iOS6 To 5.1.1 Without SHSH Blobs (A4 Devices)

Ok guys so today I am going to walk you through how to downgrade your iOS6 device to 5.1.1. Something to note first of all is that you will either need your iOS 5.1.1 SHSH blobs saved through tiny umbrella before you updated OR if you had iOS 5 jailbroken cydia would have saved them for you. To check if cydia saved them for you, open up cydia and on the first tab, at the top it will list the iOS versions that you have SHSH blobs for.

First of all I just want to say thanks to Wilson Rodriguez for helping me put together this tutorial. So for a bit of a back story, I tried this method with the older redsn0w beta and was unsuccessful, but I tried again with the newest version of redsn0w and to my surprise got it working. In this tutorial, I will be showing you how to downgrade using your SHSH blobs from cydia, and I would recommend this method as it is the easiest in my opinion.

Note: you will need to download the following to follow this tutorial. Please download redsn0w (latest version below) and the IPSW file for the device you are using:

Downloads:
Redsn0w 0.9.15b2 for Mac: Here
Redsn0w 0.9.15b2 for PC: Here
IPSW files: Here

Tutorial:

1. Download redsn0w & IPSW file
2. Open redsn0w and select > Extras > Even More > Restore
3. In the IPSW section, browse your computer for the 5.1.1 IPSW file you downloaded
4. In the blobs section, select remote (this will fetch from cydia)
5. Place your device into DFU mode (instructions will be provided on screen)
6. Wait for the process to complete. NOTE: this will install a fresh copy of 5.1.1 so you will need to download absinthe to do an untethered jailbreak

You just made redsn0w pull it from Cydia !

  2. You must use SHSH blobs. Didn't get one? Your kinda screwed like me. I updated from 4.3.5 strait to 6.0.1. Never got to 5.1.1.
Although you can still do an Un-Tethred JailBreak for 6.0.1, but its mainly only for developers. Check out this website: SnowBite.webs.com
Website was made yesterday (12/8/12) so please wait for some info and more on it!
