Fake IntelliscreenX App Lands On App Store

Again we are faced with another fake app making it's way onto the app store. I am always puzzled when this sort of thing happens, as I am aware how rigorous Apple are with the apps that they publish, I just find it unbelievable that this sort of thing happens. Not too long ago we saw a similar situations where a fake Cydia app managed to make it's way onto the app store and profiteer from the jailbreak communitys' pride and joy. In this instance, an app no more than just an alarm clock is using the IntelliscreenX name to grab sales from unsuspecting users. The fake application that attempts to sell itself as IntelliscreenX (the popular lockscreen and notification centre cydia tweak) which usually retails on Cydia for $9.99 but the fake app is being sold for $0.99 to gain as many sales as possible. The unlucky users that have splashed out the cash for this one are unsurprisingly leaving horrible reviews for it, so hopefully Apple will be able to flag this one soon and remove it from the app store.

As a note to GotToTech readers, if you see any cydia related apps on the app store, they are more than likely going to be scam applications so stay well clear of them. Remember, if it is too good to be true, it usually is.
