Jailbreak 80% Complete & Devs Update Tweaks To iOS 6 (IntelliScreenX Debate)

So lots has happened in the past few days and I have avoided bringing frequent updates with every tiny change like others to avoid annoyance, so as quite a bit has now changed here I am with the update. The last time I spoke about the jailbreak, iOS 6.1 had just been released, since then the hacking team known as evad3rs, have been frequently updating the status of the jailbreak on the evasi0n website. At the time of writing this post, it stands at 80% with a release likely tomorrow (Sunday 3rd Feb). This is exciting news as the process seems to be coming along pretty fast and seems to progress about 5% every few hours or so and I would presume the release is imminent. It probably wont come as a surprise to you that this is causing all kinds of a stir and it seems like the focus is all back on jailbreaking which comes as a breath of fresh air after the prolonged decline recently. In light of the imminent release, the developers of the jailbreak tweaks are frantically updating the tweaks to work with iOS 6, as most of them still rely on iOS 5 software as they previously didn't see the need for the update without an untethered jailbreak. Some of the tweaks that have been updated and will work as soon as the jailbreak is released are; Auxo, Bridge, Applocker and Flagpaint.

Another breaking story in the jailbreak scene is the situation with intelliscreenX. You have all likely heard of this jailbreak tweak for the awesome enhancement it gives you on the lockscreen and many people have been using it for a long time. intelliscreenX comes with a pretty hefty price tag of $9.99, something that is pretty much unheard of in the cydia store. Well, the developers have updated the tweak to iOS 6 and for new customers buying the tweak it will cost the usual $9.99. The reason people are up in arms about this is because users that have already purchased the license will have to pay another $4.99 to update their tweak to work with iOS 6 or not use it at all. The developers obviously have their reasons for this, but I think this is out of order. intelliscreenX is already the highest grossing cydia tweak and this all seems like it is about money. It seems that the developers have been clever here, as users of intelliscreenX have to purchase a license to use the software not downloading it in the usual fashion. This upgrade fee also applies to the MyWi tweak too. Let us know what you think in the comments below! Do you think this is acceptable?
